Sing we now to good Saint Andre,

Let his peace on us descend;

With our love and admiration,

Greet we Joseph’s faithful friend.

Worthy deeds are his, and wonders,

Worthy of the fame he bore;

We, with joyful praise and singing,

Honour him for ever more.

Faith prevailing, hope unfailing,

Loving Christ with single heart,

Thus he, glorious and victorious,

Shouldered well the founder’s part,

Brother Andre, turn to Mary,

Offer Joseph, ever true,

Our prayers and our petitions—

They your friends and so we too.

Saint André Bessette was fondly known as Saint Brother André. Born in Québec in 1845, Canada, he was a Religious Brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Humble servant of God, he had much devotion to Saint Joseph, and he built the largest church dedicated to Saint Joseph in the world which is situated in Montréal. He died in 1937 and he was canonized Saint in 2010. Millions of people visit the tomb of Saint Brother André and receive many favors from God through his intercession.

Saint André,

I come to you in prayer for healing.

You were no stranger to illness.

Plagued by stomach problems,

you knew suffering on a daily basis,

but you never lost faith in God.

Thousands of people have sought your healing touch

as I do today.

Pray that I might be restored to health

in body, soul and mind.

With St. Joseph as my loving Protector,

strengthen my faith and give me peace

that I might accept God’s will for me

no matter what the outcome.
